1. Do not let your paint dry out
A half-empty can of paint will dry out. Store the paint down and put plastic wrap under the lid, or drop golf balls to the paint can to fill the air space, seal it tightly.
2. Use the primer that is Ideal
If you are painting fresh shingles, then use a water-based primer to hide imperfections and provide an even base before applying colour. If you are painting water-damaged paneling or smoke-saturated walls, then elect for an oil-based primer.
3. Avoid lap marks
To prevent stripes caused by rolling over paint that is already beginning to dry, keep a wet edge by painting the complete height of the wall and then transferring over slightly so that you can overlap the last stroke with the following.
4. Stir paint with a stirrer that is modified
Before you stir paint, drill holes at the stirrer to assist blend the paint thoroughly. The holes help the paint stream mixing the paint and aerating it like a whisk.
5. If You Would like add texture
Should you would like to have more texture on your wall, select a roller with a longer, 3/4" rest, that holds more paint. The rest is the cloth material and more naps create stippling due to the way the paint is distributed by their fibers. Utilize a shorter-nap roller -- between 1/4" and 1/2" rest -- for the smoothest finish.
