1. Do not let your paint dry out

A half-empty can of paint will dry out. Store the paint down and put plastic wrap under the lid, or drop golf balls to the paint can to fill the air space, seal it tightly.

2. Use the primer that is Ideal

If you are painting fresh shingles, then use a water-based primer to hide imperfections and provide an even base before applying colour. If you are painting water-damaged paneling or smoke-saturated walls, then elect for an oil-based primer.
